LAKE FOREST, CA, JUNE 2020 – As Father’s Day approaches, Camisasca Automotive would like to honor a “Father of the Automotive Industry" Stirling Moss.
THE LIFE OF STIRLING MOSS
Sir Stirling Craufurd Moss was born on September 17, 1929 in West Kensington, London, UK. As a British Formula One racing driver, he incredibly won 212 of the 529 races during his illustrious professional racing career. Other notable achievements include:
Moss’ first major international race victory occurred in the 1950 RAC Tourist Trophy on the Dundrod circuit.
His victory at the 1955 British Grand Prix marked the first time a British racer had ever won the race.
In 1957 Moss broke five International Class F records in the MG EX181 at Bonneville Salt Flats reaching a speed of 245.64 mph.
He was officially inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1990.
In 2011 Stirling Moss announced his retirement from racing.
Sadly, Stirling Moss passed in London on April 12, 2020 at the age of 90. A great who will never be forgotten.
