LAKE FOREST, CA, JULY 2020 – Continuing Camisasca Automotive’s Fathers of Automotive Series, we would like to honor the charismatic Enzo Ferrari. He is truly a figure that has left his lasting impact on the vehicle manufacturing and racing industries.
THE LIFE OF ENZO FERRARI
Enzo Anselmo Giuseppe Maria Ferrari was born on February 18, 1898 in Modena, Italy. From Driver to Constructor, his passion for automotive competition lead to some of the most capable and downright beautiful cars ever to grace the automotive world. Vehicles synonymous with the his larger than life persona, some notable facts about his career:
During his competitive racing career Enzo participated in 41 Grand Prix achieving 11 wins.
In 1929 Enzo founded Scuderia Ferrari, the race team that would compete as a division of Alfa Romeo.
Ferrari founded Ferrari S.p.A. and began producing cars bearing his own name in 1947.
Enzo Ferrari’s racing team’s victories include 8 F1 Constructor’s Championships, 14 Sports Cars Championships, and 9 Le Mans wins from 1952-1988.
In 1994 Enzo was inducted in the International Motorsports Hall of Fame, and in 2000 the Automotive Hall of Fame.
In 2002 the “Enzo Ferrari” automobile came to market in honor of his legacy.
Sadly, Enzo Ferrari passed away on August 14, 1988 in Maranello at the age of 90. The talisman’s personality and accomplishments will forever be remembered.
